USS Palau (CVE-122) was a Commencement Bay-class escort carrier commissioned in January 1946 after World War II ended. She served in the Cold War Atlantic Fleet and Mediterranean, participating in early helicopter assault experiments (Packard series 1948) and aircraft delivery missions to allied nations before being decommissioned on 15 June 1954. Palau was struck from the naval register in 1960 and sold for scrap; salvaged components were later repurposed as a mountaineers' hut in Spain.
